URLforwarding version 3.01
Do you want to make some extra cash and get more visitors to your site?
With URLforwarding you can provide other web sites with YourDomain.com/Username and Username.YourDomain.com type URLs that will redirect to their web site.
Members can easily create and edit accounts. You make money from ads shown in the frame (top or bottom of page),
pop-up window or delay page that appears on each member's site, you can also increase your
site's popularity because people will see your domain name all over the Internet! URLforwarding supports unlimited domain names, just like the big sites! Version 3 supports subdomain URLs!
Features:
- Very easy to install.
- Once setup you barely have to do anything.
- Users pick if they want a header or footer frame on their page, a pop-up window, a delay
page, or nothing.
- You customize the contents of the frame, pop-up and delay page. (you can put banner ads
in to make money and/or links to your web site.)
- Users log in with their username and password to edit their account (where their new URL
forwards to) and it is updated right away.
- The Admin cgi let's you view how many accounts have been created, get the e-mail of any
of the users, and other features.
- A list of e-mails is made for you, so you can e-mail all users at once if you need to.
- When a visitor of one of your user's sites bookmarks the page they will be bookmarking
www.yourdomain.com/username. This is good for you and your users.
- Unlike free web space giveaway, free forwarding does not use up much space on your
server. Approx 1 kb of space per account and barely any bandwith is used either!
Version 3.01 released to fix small problem with information not being displayed after e-mail confirmation during signup.
New Features in version 3:
- Provide Subdomain redirection now too! People can get name.yourdomain.com URLs, not just yourdomain.com/name type ones. Note: Wildcards need to be able enabled on your server, instructions provided with script.
- Keeps track of hits received to each URL. You can see which accounts are inactive and delete them, saving you space!
- Edit all HTML templates from the admin.
- Option in admin to update all member HTML files. This is useful if you offer the "delay page" option and changed the text on it. This will also update all your accounts to make sure they use version 3 technology.
- When admin deletes an account, you can have all hits going to that URL redirected to your main page. Why waste all that traffic?
- More HTML templates to customize the look of the CGIs!
Features that were new in Version 2.2:
- Signup form now let's people choose to enter a URL (as always) OR to just reserve the account (which will display an "under contruction" page designed by the admin).
- Better design for admin pages, now easier to use.
- Admin can view html code for the different forms used (signup, login & search), you can then customize and place the form on any page of your site you want.
- When admin views list of new members you can see the exact date and time they signed up.
- You can send an e-mail message to all members (or if you use mulitple domain names, just the ones using one of those).
- Admin and member account pages are now completely password protected (for maximum security).
- HTML files used for member accounts was improved for faster redirection.
- A few small problems were fixed.
- Now uses Version Update Technology
Features that were new in Version 2.0:
- Provide redirection for unlimited domain names, as many as you want, all controlled from
the same script!
- 5th account display option added: a frame at the top of the site!
- Members can edit their e-mail or password too.
- Improved admin area includes: graphical stats, "find a member" search engine,
easier access to member info, more member info displayed, and many other improvements.
- Admin page also allows you to change individual member account types. This is good if
you offer pay accounts with no banner ads!
- Search engine for finding available usernames (especially useful when using multiple
domains).
- More improved code for faster results.
- Better error handling (with detailed messages) when something goes wrong.
Features that were new in Version 1.5:
- You choose which of 4 options the members get to pick from (frame, pop-up, delay page,
or none), and members can change which option they want anytime.
- E-mail confirmation: You may choose to have new accounts only activated by a special URL
sent by e-mail to new users.
- You can reserve and ban certain words form being used as the username.
- Admin page has been improved: better layout, graphs, more options.
- The code in all files has been improved to make it faster.
- Small problems have been fixed.
Features that were new in Version 1.1:
- Admin page lets you delete accounts.
- Admin page lets you send an e-mail message to a user
- Members can switch between frame or pop-up option after loging in.
- Members can delete their account.
- Members can have their password e-mailed to them if they forgot it.
Version 2.21 was released to fix a small problem (in v2.2) that prevented members from chamging their password. Anyone who bought version 2.2 may get version 2.21 (no matter what package you chose), just request it.
